It’s fall y'all!

It is our favorite time of the year. There is a chill in the air, the leaves are turning into the most beautiful of colors, and the smell of pumpkin lattes seep into the room. It is time to get out the sweaters and blankets. Cozy is the name of the game for fall. Here are some items we each have in our home to help create that cozy feel:

Fall scents, everywhere. Apple cider hand soap in the bathroom and kitchen, candles lit in the family room, oils diffusing in the bedrooms and fresh apple pie cooking in the oven. Cinnamon has been researched and proven to fight mental fatigue and improve concentration and focus. So put a dash of cinnamon in your coffee or tea and let’s get moving for the day friends!
Blanket ladders are both practical and cute! Blankets are used in our homes all winter long. Guests enjoy cuddling up with a blanket next to the fire for late night hot cider chats. Most antique shops have old ladders that are perfect to fold some blankets. Try to support your local antique shops by looking there first. We love Blackbird Adventure Blankets. They are made both ethical and sustainable by Indigenous Artisans. They have fun patterns that can look perfect in any room of your home and they are multi-purpose. They can be used for a yoga mat, beach blanket, picnic blanket or camping blanket.

Wreaths are a beautiful front door art piece or they can hang in the home. What is nice about wreaths is they can stay up for the winter as well. It is always so inviting on a front door. We have made our own wreaths out of eucalyptus, lavender, baby’s breath and herbs. It is really fun to create your own, they hold up well once dried. The smell of the lavender and eucalyptus last all winter long.

Log stacks by the fireplace. Even if you have an electric fireplace, it adds the fresh smell of cedarwood in your home and makes you feel oh so cozy all winter long! This looks best on a bookshelf next to a mantle or beside the fireplace itself.

Linens are an important must have as you continue to transition into new seasons. Dish towels, tablecloths and napkins can help make your home feel so festive. It is special to be able to pass down your beautiful linens to your family to keep the simple traditions going. Some fall colors that are trending are “Fired Brick, Olive, Rose Tan and Amber.” Table cloths are great for families as they are easy to wash and they help keep the table clean.
